Samsung will reportedly use a higher quality metal design for its upcoming Galaxy Note 3 smartphone.

It appears that with the success of the HTC One, with its aluminium uni-body, Samsung is 'worried' about the quality of its own handsets. Samsung will be switching to a metal design and build for the Galaxy Note 3 smartphone, according to SamMobile. See also: Samsung Galaxy S4 vs HTC One smartphone comparison review.

Samsung has come under some criticism for sticking with a plastic chassis for the Galaxy S4, like previous generations. Consumers expect more from a flagship smartphone and the Samsung insider said Galaxy Note 3 will not use the design guidelines of the Galaxy S4. It will use metal but the source didn't confirm which will be used.

The firm believes its Nature UX software is better than HTC's rival Sense overlay. See also: Group test: what's the best smartphone?
Interestingly, the Samsung source said a metal design for the Galaxy S4 was very popular internally but unfortunately couldn't make mass production in time for the launch of the handset.

When will we find out if this is true? Well, it is thought that Samsung will introduce the Galaxy Note 3, along with a Galaxy Tab 3, at IFA this September. See also: Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Tab 3 to arrive in September at IFA.

According to leaked information, the Galaxy Note 3 will come with a 5.9in Super AMOLED screen and Samsung's Exynos octa-core processor. It will also have a 13Mp rear camera and the latest version of Android, possibly 5.0 Key Lime Pie.
